Polish Foreign Minister arrived in the United States to discuss cooperation on missile defence

On Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, issued a statement saying that nearest time, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski will visit U.S. to discuss Poland’s participation in the missile defense / USA.

According to Polish news agency reported citing a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs R. Sikorski’s visit to the United States would be a good chance for the two countries of strategic dialogue. The Polish government will inform the U.S. side, that Poland is ready to hold dialogue with the United States regarding their participation in the new U.S. missile defense system in Europe. In addition, Poland and the U.S. will focus on discussing of military cooperation.

U.S. in July last year with the Czech Republic signed an agreement to deploy the radar base in Czech missile warning and in August of that year reached an agreement with Poland to establish a U.S. missile defense bases in Poland. September 17, President Barack Obama announced the rejection of the plan the deployment of U.S. missile defense bases in Eastern Europe and the advanced stages, more focused, timely and effective program for missile defense system.

As stated on Thursday, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, the U.S. is still going by 2015 to deploy in Poland and the Czech Republic missile defense system. According to him, the U.S. has already begun to discuss with the allies, including Poland and the Czech Republic, the deployment of a ballistic missile system
