“The situation in the airline market is changing rapidly. With such strong competition, we must react quickly and make optimal use of our opportunities,” - told Sebastian Mikosch, LOT chairman.

According to him, “Russia’s airline” KD-Avia had gone from the market, which operates flights from Kaliningrad to European countries. “We decided to restore flights Warsaw - Kaliningrad - Warsaw, to attract customers and offer passengers not only a direct flight to the Polish capital, but the possibility of convenient and rapid transit through Warsaw in the countries of Western Europe”, - added Mikosch.

Company LOT in 2002-2008 carried out regular flights from Warsaw to Kaliningrad, but was forced to cancel flights in September 2008 due to the fact that flights on this route have become unprofitable due to increasing competition from the “KD-Avia.
