“For the sake of historical justice and in the name of the memory of hundreds of thousands of Poles …” European Center for Geopolitical Analysis (Poland) together with the International Institute of the newest initiates a suit in the Polish National Court.
The main claim - is to recognize the heroes of Ukraine Roman Shukhevich Stepan Bandera (January 22, Viktor Yushchenko appointed them Heroes of Ukraine - REGNUM News) Nazi war criminals responsible for mass killings of more than 200 thousands of Polish citizens during the period 1941-1945.
Based on the Ukrainian judicial precedent in the case “on Holodomor”, initiated by the Security Service of Ukraine, the plaintiffs rely on a positive decision of Polish National Court.
As a correspondent of REGNUM News informs, the decision of a joint action took place during the joint expert meeting of the European Center for Geopolitical Analysis and the International Institute of the newest states in Kiev on January 21, 2009.
As the President of the European center of geopolitical analysis Mateus Piskorsky noted in an interview to REGNUM News, “we hope that Polish judges will take the court decision quickly, as well as their Ukrainian colleagues concerning Holodomor”.
“Without a doubt, the adoption of such a court decision will help to strengthen the Polish-Ukrainian relations, as it has the legal certainty in troublesome times in a common Polish-Ukrainian history,” said the expert of the International Institute of the newest states Igor Kaminnik.
According to the Kiev office of the International Institute of the newest states, the claim to the Polish National Court will be filed in February 2010.
